Falconbridge holds a right to back into a 50.1% working interest in the Catface property at the time of a production decision by paying Selkirk 150% of Selkirk's expenditures on Catface. Alternatively, Falconbridge may revert to a 9% Net Proceeds of Production Royalty.

The property location is on Catface Peninsula, west of Port Alberni, British Columbia, on the West Coast of Vancouver Island
 
History of the CATFACE Project
The Catface porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit was discovered in 1960 and extensively explored by Falconbridge between 1961 and 1971. Exploration continued up until 1989 by which time accumulated expenditures had reached $2,774,000. Three mineralized areas were identified, known as the Cliff, Irishman Creek and Hecate Bay zones.
 
Geology of the CATFACE Project
Mineralization is related to a small, mid-Eocene, porphyritic quartz diorite to granodiorite stock that intruded older quartz monzonite and Triassic Karmutsen Group basalt. Disseminated and fracture-controlled chalcopyrite, bornite and minor molybden more...
