Compass Lake gold project is located in the north central portion of the province within the LaRonge Belt of volcanic rocks.

Significant gold in till anomalies have so far lead to the discovery of one shear hosted gold zone, which although interesting, does not account for the extensive gold in till anomalies. Other untested shear structures on the property attest to its significant untested exploration potential.
