The Volcan Gold Project is located in Chile’s Region III approximately 170 kilometres east of Copiapo and 23 kilometres northeast of Kinross’ Maricunga gold mine (formerly known as the Refugio mine), Chile.

History of the Volcan Project |
The Volcan sulphur deposits were probably first recognized by Europeans in the 17th century. The native sulphur deposits were reportedly exploited in the 19th century and used to manufacture sulphuric acid.

Gold-copper mineralization at Volcan is related to the intensely developed hydrothermal alteration that gave rise to the native sulphur deposits which occur throughout the property.
