History of the Webbs Consols Project
The Wellingrove line of lode, about 2 kilometres east of Webbs Consols, was discovered in 1875, but records show only some 50 tonnes of ore extracted from several shafts to 45 metres depth up to the early 1960s. Lead and zinc were the predominant metals (1-3% Pb+Zn) from drilling in the early 1980s.
