History of the Elder mine
Following the first discovery of Gold bearing quartz veins in 1933, extensive drilling was undertaken. Elder Gold Mines acquired the property in 1944 and started to mine it. Aunore Resources were the subsequent owners. In 1989, after reviewing the data from Aunore's drill program, SNC validated the company's ore resources for the Elder Mine.
