On Jan 27, 2009, Newmont acquired the remaining 33% of the Boddington project from Anglogold Ashanti for 750 millions in cash, 240 millions payable in cash or Newmont shares at Newmont's choice, and a royalty capped at 100 millions. Prior ownership : Newmont 66.67%; AngloGold Ashanti 33.33%. Newmont acquired Newcrest’s 22.22% share in March 2006.
