Atna Resource became the owner of the Briggs mine after its merger with Canyon Resources in November 2007.

Location of the BRIGGS Project
The Briggs gold deposit is located on the western flank of the Panamint Range, Inyo County, California, approximately 50 miles northeast of Ridgecrest.

History of the BRIGGS Project
No historical information was found on CR Briggs Mine (seven miles south of Ballarat) until the 1930s when the United States Government funded the first modern exploration program on the property. The property was explored by numerous companies from 1972 until it was placed into production by Canyon in 1996.

Geology of the BRIGGS Project
The Briggs gold deposit is hosted by Precambrian quartz and amphibolite gneisses that have been severely deformed by faults of Tertiary age.
