Location of the Driefontein Project
Driefontein is situated some 70 km west of Johannesburg near Carletonville in the Gauteng Province of South Africa. The site is accessed via the N12 highway between Johannesburg and Potchefstroom. Geologically it is located in the West Wits Line Goldfield of the Witwatersrand Basin.
