Location of the Mount oxide Project
The Mount Oxide project lies in the western Mount Isa Block and covers a 35 kilometre extent of the NNE-trending Mount Gordon Fault system that includes the old Mount Oxide copper mine.

History of the Mount oxide Project
Within the project area, the Mount Oxide mine produced 51,000 tonnes of secondary copper ore at a grade of 21% copper from an underground mining operation to a depth of 90 metres below surface, prior to 1958. Between 1968 and 1971, an unknown quantity of ore was also extracted from an open pit at the mine.

Geology of the Mount oxide Project
The copper mineralisation occurs as chalcocite in carbonaceous pyritic shale on the margins of steeply-dipping zones of siliceous and haematitic breccia.
