Location of the Highland valley Project The HVC operation is located adjacent to a highway connecting Merritt, Logan Lake, and Ashcroft, British Columbia. The mine itself is approximately 80 kilometres southwest of Kamloops, and approximately 200 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.   Geology of the Highland valley Project The host rocks of the Valley deposit are mainly porphyritic quartz monzonites and granodiorites of the Bethsaida phase of the Batholith.
