Location of the Carr Boyd Project |
The Carr Boyd nickel-copper sulphide deposit is located approximately 80 kilometres north northeast of Kalgoorlie within the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
History of the Carr Boyd Project |
The deposit was discovered in 1968 and between 1973 and 1977 the mine produced 210,000 tonnes at 1.44% Ni and 0.46% Cu. Titan acquired the project in 2001 and conducted an intensive drilling program in the area of the mine defining a measured and indicated resource of 815,700 tonnes of 1.11% Ni.

Geology of the Carr Boyd Project |
The Ni-Cu mineralisation at the Carr Boyd mine is located in bronzitite pegmatoids interpreted as pipe-like breccia intrusions. This mineralisation possibly represents sulphides that have been remobilised from the basal contact of the CBLC. The basal contact remains a key exploration target.
