In July 2006, African Eagle signed heads of agreement for a joint venture with CGA Mining Limited. U n d e r t he agreement, African Eagle and CGA will set up a joint venture vehicle to explore the licences and develop the Mkushi project, holding 49% and 51% interests respectively.
Location of the Mkushi Project
The Mkushi copper project is located close to the southern limb of the Zambian copperbelt approximately 60 kilometres from the regional centre of Kapiri Mposhi and 250 kilometres north of the State capital of Lukasa.

Geology of the Mkushi Project
The region is underlain by gneisses, schists and quartzite horizons of the Basement Supergroup, intruded by syn-to-post tectonic granites, aplites and pegmatites which host the Mkushi copper mineralization. The Mkushi deposit is not on the well-known Zambian Copperbelt.
