The Comet Vale project is located approximately 100 km north of Kalgoorlie and covers an area of 25 km2 surrounding the historic Comet Vale gold mining centre.

| Geology of the Coonega Project |
|
|
The gold lodes at Comet Vale are aligned along a shear zone that parallels the boundary between the basalt and ultramafic rocks to the east.
The lodes are closely associated with but post-date a number of parallel porphyry dykes.
