UME purchased the San Gregorio operations including the gold processing plant during 2003 following the discovery of the Arenal deposit.
Location of the San Gregorio Mine
The San Gregorio project is located near the town of Minas de Corrales in the Department of Rivera, approximately 450 kilometres north of Montevideo.

Geology of the San Gregorio Mine
At San Gregorio the mineralised system covers a 7 km shear zone with three major deposits identified to date. These include the currently operational Arenal deposit and the historical San Gregorio and Santa Teresa deposits. During the year the Company identified and commenced mining on a number of veins/shears that splay off the main mineralised trend. These areas include Veta A and Veta Sur.
