The mine is located in south central British Columbia, 8 km southwest of Likely and 100 km (by road) northeast of Williams Lake.
 
History of the Mount Polley Project
The Mount Polley mine was built by Imperial and commissioned in 1997. Imperial's wholly owned Mount Polley mine recommenced operations on March 8, 2005. Production for 2005 (10 months operation) was 30 million pounds copper, 30,000 ounces gold and 234,000 ounces silver.
