Location of the Buffalo Hills Project
The Buffalo Hills property is located 400 kilometers northwest of Edmonton, and is the third largest district of significantly diamond-bearing kimberlites in Canada after Lac de Gras in the Northwest Territories and Fort à la Corne in Saskatchewan.
 
History of the Buffalo Hills Project
To date, a total of 38 kimberlites have been discovered in the region, of which 26 are diamondiferous. Pipe areas range from 1 - 47 hectares.
 
Geology of the Buffalo Hills Project
The property is overlain by three Cretaceous aged sedimentary formations of marine and non-marine sequences of sandstone, siltstone and shale. Intruded through the Cretaceous sediments, in a similar manner to the Fort à la Corne kimberlites, are 38  more...
