Vancouver, British Columbia, August 31, 2015. Newport Exploration Ltd. ("Newport" or the "Company") has been advised by Beach Energy Ltd ("Beach") that the royalty payment due to the Company for the period May 1 to July 31, 2015 is AUD$1,783,185. This amount is to be held in an interest bearing account pending a ruling from the Australian Tax Office ("ATO").
The Company has received past royalties in accordance with advice received from tax advisors in Australia, with applicable taxes being paid in full to the Canadian Revenue Agency ("CRA") and, Beach has requested that this arrangement be clarified by the ATO.
The Company continues to strongly encourage shareholders and potential investors to access information released independently by Beach and Drillsearch Energy Limited in order to keep current during an active period in the exploration and development of these permits.
Newport currently has 88,429,874 million shares issued and outstanding with approximately $15.3 million on account.
