Astral Acquires Additional Gold Properties In Nevada

Astral Mining Corporation (AST.V, Frankfurt WKN# A0JDX3) is pleased to announce that is has staked the "Monzo" gold-copper property, located in the Cedar Mountains region of Nevada. The Monzo property consists of 120 claims covering 1,004 hectares (2,480 acres). The property is located in a historic mining district and has potential for hosting epithermal precious metal, polymetallic replacement and porphyry deposits.

The Cedar Mountains region occurs on the northeastern edge of the Walker Lane precious metal trend and includes the historical past-producing Simon, Warrior and Olympic mines (Omco). Astral's Monzo property is located approximately 21km southeast of the Paradise Peak mine, which produced 1.6 million ounces of gold and 24 million ounces of silver1.

During its initial reconnaissance of the property Astral has collected 40 surface rock samples. Gold grades vary from <3 ppb to 6,250 ppb (6.2 grams per tonne "g/t" gold). The 6.2 g/t gold sample came from a grab sample of quartz vein material from an old working; a 1.7 g/t gold value came from a grab sample of altered quartz monzonite. Copper values range from less than detection to >10,000 ppm. The over-limit sample and a second sample which assayed 8,030 ppm copper were collected from an altered zone at the contact of the limestone and quartz monzonite. The Company is planning to conduct further geological mapping, surface rock sampling and ground geophysics in order to identify targets for drill-testing.

Astral is currently carrying out a Phase I-1000m drill program on the Roy and Hills gold properties in the Walker Lane approximately 15km southeast of Monzo. These properties are situated midway between the historic mining district of Tonopah (1.8 million ounces gold and 174 million ounces silver2) and the more recently mined Paradise Peak deposit.

Work on the Monzo property has been carried out by John Rice, M.Sc, C.P.G.. Technical information contained in this release has been reviewed by Dr. David Terry, P.Geo., Director and Vice President of Exploration for Astral Mining Corporation, a Qualified Person as defined in National Instrument 43-101.
