GALILEE DRILLING COMMENCES | |

Eastern Corporation Limited (“Eastern”) is pleased to announce that further exploration drilling has commenced at the company’s coal seam methane prospect near Longreach in Central Queensland. Galilee Energy Limited (“Galilee”)
holds ATP’s 529P and 799P in the Galilee Basin. Eastern holds approximately 61% of Galilee.
An exploration hole was spudded on Saturday, July 6 at Rodney Creek, in the southern part of ATP 529P. The exploration programme was devised in 2006 but was
suspended due to delays in securing a rig capable of drilling and coring to the depth required (approximately 1200 metres). The primary objective of the programme is to establish the gas content, adsorption isotherms and in-situ permeabilities of the vast
coal seams in the area. These results will be analysed in conjunction with reinterpretations of data gathered in earlier exploration conducted in the same region.
