StrataGold Intersects 85.5 metres Averaging 5.80 g/t Gold, Tassawini, Guyana
Vancouver - July 9, 2007 - StrataGold Corporation (SGV-TSX) is pleased to report results for seventy (70) diamond drill holes (DDH's), representing 7,228.6 metres (m) of the 2007 diamond drilling program at Tassawini (including Black Ridge, Tassawini West, Tassawini South and Tassawini East) and Sonne. StrataGold's 2007 program to date includes a total of 9,359.6 m of diamond drilling, with assays pending for an additional twenty one (21) holes.
Results of the 2007 drilling to date have demonstrated continuity of the gold mineralization at depth and along strike in Tassawini West, East and Black Ridge and, importantly, have improved the geological knowledge base which will be used as a guide to exploration and resource development. Tassawini West, East and Black Ridge remain open either along strike or down plunge. Diamond drilling at Sonne has demonstrated that there is a good opportunity to develop a near surface gold resource.
Exploration continues with ground geophysics (Induced Polarization), detailed mapping and trenching at all of the target areas. Additional drilling will continue following completion of these programs and will focus on the expansion of the existing gold resource and satellite target areas, including the Anaturi Stamp Mill target.
Tassawini West
Drilling at Tassawini West (18 holes totaling 1800.4 m; 2 holes totaling 61.0 m were abandoned for technical reasons) was carried out to follow up on specific targets generated by previous drilling and to investigate geological controls on mineralization. Drillhole SD317 intersected 85.50 m averaging 5.80 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and a lower bedrock intercept of 70.35 m averaging 2.87 g/t gold confirming excellent continuity of a high grade mineralized core zone plunging to the southwest within the main mineralized zone; this hole was drilled obliquely to the strike and true plunge of mineralization and therefore the intersection lengths reported here are not representative of true thickness. SD345 (45.00 m averaging 0.98 g/t gold from 0 m depth) was collared approximately 125 m along strike, to the northeast of previous diamond drilling Tassawini West. Mineralization has been intersected in diamond drill holes over a total strike length of approximately 600 m, and remains open to the southwest down plunge and to the northeast. Results for 6 DDH's representing 665.1 m are below; assays for 10 DDH's are pending:

Tassawini East
Drilling at Tassawini East (10 holes totaling 1050 m) was carried out to define previously intersected mineralization and to further investigate previous reverse circulation drill intersections. Results from holes SD332 (34.35 m averaging 1.07 g/t gold), SD333 (54.00 m averaging 1.15 g/t gold, including 16.00 m averaging 2.55 g/t gold), SD334 (23.75m averaging 1.06 g/t gold) and SD337 (10.55 m averaging 2.09 g/t gold AND 16.50 m averaging 1.15 g/t gold) have confirmed enhanced mineralization within fold hinge zones towards the southwestern part of Tassawini East - importantly, this zone remains untested and open along strike and down plunge to the southwest. Results for 7 holes representing 657 m are presented in the table below; assays for 3 DDH's are pending:

Sonne North
Drilling at Sonne North (29 holes totaling 2946.4 m) was carried out in an area of approximately 300 m x 400 m on 50 m x 50 m centres and tested the bedrock to approximately 70 m vertical depth. The program was designed to follow up widespread reverse circulation drill intersections and has confirmed a low grade saprolite deposit in the near surface environment; the mineralization intersected is in flat to gently dipping bodies ranging between 5 m and 20 m in true thickness. SD268 (22.5 m averaging 1.54 g/t gold - including 12 m averaging 2.60 g/t gold) confirmed the presence of high grade mineralization which had been intersected in both reverse circulation drilling and trenching. Results for 28 holes representing 2862.9 m are below; assays for one DDH are pending:

Black Ridge
Drilling at Black Ridge (16 holes totaling 1824 m) was carried out in a 25 m step out pattern to the south west and to the east of previously drilled areas. SD287 (34.65 m averaging 1.05 g/t gold - including 22.65 m averaging 1.35 g/t gold) has confirmed excellent continuation of thicknesses and grades of near surface mineralization to the east of the previously drilled zone. Results received so far show that the mineralized zone remains open and untested to the east and down plunge to the southwest, but have effectively closed the near surface mineralized envelope to the southwest of Black Ridge. Results for 15 holes representing 1725 m are below; assays for one DDH is pending:

Quality Control and Assurance
A rigorous Quality Control and Assurance program (QC/QA) is in place, using control samples and duplicates, as well as Chain of Custody (COC) protocols, under the supervision of Bill Yeomans, P.Geo., General Manager Exploration, South America. Tamperproof sample bags with zip lock tags are being utilized for all of the drill samples. The Tassawini samples were prepared by ACME laboratories in Georgetown, Guyana, and analyzed by ACME laboratories in Santiago, Chile. ACME Laboratories implements a quality system compliant with the International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2000 Model for Quality Assurance and ISO 17025. The control samples and duplicate assay results received for the drilling program demonstrated to StrataGold that the results are considered reliable. However, due to the rigorous nature of StrataGold's QC/QA program, additional check assays will be conducted and these results pending. All diamond drill holes are being processed at an ISO 9000 registered laboratory. The technical information in this news release has been prepared in accordance with Canadian regulatory requirements set out in National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Bill Yeomans is designated as the qualified person having reviewed this information.
