SIGNING: Tumby Bay mayor Sam Telfer and Lincoln Minerals chairman Yubo Jin sign the memorandum of understanding.
Mine future agreement
LINCOLN Minerals and the Tumby Bay Dis- trict Council have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together to maximise the benefits from the company's Kookaburra Gully graphite project, which is located with- in the district council area.
Tumby Bay District Council mayor Sam Telfer, chief executive Trevor Smith, Lincoln Minerals chairman Yubo Jin and managing director John Parker met in Port Lincoln on Tuesday to formalise the agreement.
Mr Parker said the memorandum of un- derstanding had been put together over the past few months.
"It's an agreement that we're going to work together to try and optimise what we're go- ing to do in the future from a mining point of view and optimise the benefits for the com- munity," Mr Parker said.
The project received federal government approval in January and a State Government decision on the company's mining lease pro- posal is expected soon.
