General Motors (GM) and the United Auto Workers union have reached a tentative new four-year labor contract, averting a strike for now. Separately, GM is rolling out its 2016 Camaro in its Lansing Grand River Assembly plant. It is the first time since 1992 that the Camaro is being produced in the U.S. MasterCard (MA) is losing a big client. The United Services Automobile Association (USAA), one of the country's largest issuers of debit and credit cards said it's switching to Visa (V) and ending its longtime partnership with MasterCard. Valeant Pharmaceuticals (VRX) will set up a committee to look into allegations related to the company's ties with specialty pharmacy distributor Philidor. The stock fell about 30% last week after short-selling research firm Citron alleged the drug company committed massive fraud, calling it the "pharmaceutical Enron." In a conference call this morning the chief executive of Valeant defended the company's accounting practices and called the allegations by Citron "completely untrue," and asked the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to investigate the short seller. Get the Latest Market Data and News with the Yahoo Finance App Xerox (XRX) reported third quarter earning per share that came in a penny above estimates, but revenue slightly missed forecasts as lower printer sales and a strong dollar took a toll on sales. Xerox also said it would review its operations. Piedmont Natural Gas (PNY) is being bought by Duke Energy (DUK) for $4.9 billion in cash, or $60-dollars a share. The deal will help Duke add about a million new natural gas customers in the Carolinas and Tennessee. Microsoft (MSFT) is going upscale, officially opening its striking new flagship store on New York City’s Fifth Avenue, where buyers can peruse new laptops, Surface tablets, and even an Xbox One playing on an 80 inch screen. The store will also feature “future” products like its upcoming fitness tracker.
