TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 27, 2016) - Lydian International Limited (TSX:LYD) ('Lydian' or 'the Company') is pleased to announce the appointments of Joseph Phillips as Chief Operating Officer and Robert Carreau as Vice President of Sustainability, effective July 1, 2016.
Mr. Phillips brings 43 years of senior experience in international mine development and operations. He was most recently the Chief Restructuring Officer for Carpathian Gold and Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation. Prior to that, Mr. Phillips was Senior Vice President of Operations and Development and acting Chief Operating Officer of Silver Standard Resources and Senior Vice President of Project Development at Pan American Silver, where he was a member of the senior leadership team where he led the construction and commissioning of four mines over seven years in Mexico. His experience includes building, commissioning and operating mines in 12 countries and has had the distinction of having all projects meet or exceed design expectations. He has a degree in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and advanced studies in Engineering at the University of South Florida. He has served as a Director of the Chambers of Mines of Mexico, Chile and Ghana.
Mr. Carreau is an accomplished mining executive with more than 25 years of international experience in managing all aspects of environmental stewardship, health and safety programs, and corporate social responsibility. Prior to joining Lydian, Mr. Carreau led the global execution and long term strategy for IAMGOLD Corporation's Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Corporate Social Responsibility and Security. Mr. Carreau's initiatives and development efforts in Burkina Faso earned him the Canadian Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) award in 2013. Prior to this, Mr. Carreau developed and led global environmental sustainability initiatives and implemented health and safety policies for a number of mid-tier development and mining companies.
