Total production from Kumba decreased to 8.9 Mt as Sishen transitioned to a lower cost pit configuration. This is 27% less than Q1 2015 and 18% lower compared to Q4 2015.
Total export sales volumes decreased by 18% compared to Q1 2015 and by 11% compared to the previous quarter at 9.4 Mt.

| Kumba and ArcelorMittal have agreed to amend the pricing mechanism terms of their current agreement from a cost-based price to a price based on an export parity price ('EPP'). Kumba announces that Sishen mine continues to perform well against its operational plan and remains on track to increase production to 35 Mt in 2014, 36 Mt in 2015 and 37 Mt from 2016. Kolomela mine's life of mine (LoM) production capacity has been increased to 11 Mtpa from 2015. Studies are in progress at Kolomela, which could result in increasing production further to 12 Mt in 2016 and to 13 Mtpa from 2017.
