Say you throw in the towel today and sell your gold or silver for cash money.
What are you going to do with it?
Leave it in the bank?
Put it under your pillow?
Buy shares?

Are you going to make a better use/investment with that money?

Hold your gold. See it as an asset. Use future earned cash to invest in something other than Gold.
Problem solved.
