Well Mish;

We can't expect France and Germany to be very rational about their own self interests right now.
Sometimes i think the Soviets and Americans understood each other more clearly and cooperatively than
the politicians of France and Germany.

Merkel needs to be re-elected and she is pandering to her base, which is socialist, but much
more interested in keeping their savings in Germany than redistributing it to France et al.

Shall we call it 'post-redistributionist-socialism' ?

This just in: Hollande of France has just raised the tax on millionaires to 75%.
Does he really think they will stick around? Like Gérard Depardieu?

Hey, we could always return to good old fascism, you know, to keep people rich at home.
