Generally I don't believe in conspiracy theories involving aliens or Illuminati plots for a one-world Fascist state. But I do believe in human stupidity as evidenced by the 60+ millions who TWICE voted the Socialist Obama into office. Those who think Obama is the cause of all our ills need to reflect on the mindset of those millions.

So, whether conspiracy or stupidity, being as prepared as one can be is the best we can do to counter an uncertain future: which means having as much individual control of our lives as possible for as far into the future we can afford to do so. That entails, as the article suggests, having in one's possession gold and silver coins, food, water, guns and ammo, medical supplies, communication gear, radiation detectors and a hundred other items we take for granted -- that we think we will always be able to procure from the stores in our neighborhoods. The advantage of being prepared may only be the time one gains to think rationally about longer term survival while the vast majority are consumed in the immediate distress.

Unfortunately one needs to be over prepared to aid family members who, grinning now at our paranoia, will be all teary-eyed knocking on our door come the final denouncement.

As I'm writing this I'm getting depressed and so will stop.
