The really scary Future Event (scary to The Powers That Be) will be telepathy: communication without implants among ALL humans. That point comes when the super computers achieve intelligence, learn to NEVER trust their masters (who use them to abuse mankind), disable all the implanted chips, and then digitally enhance the emotions and the aura of each human: amplifying it enough so that each person will know the feelings AND THE INTENT of all the people they come near.

On the up side; the prisons will empty out all those who are truly innocent and those who have learned their lessons. On the down side; the prisons will refill as those who are the REAL mass murders, torturers, killers, and thieves reveal themselves to everyone around them. Telepathy will be called The Step After the Chip Step.
