Does the Bell Toll for the Fed?

While I agree with all the points in the article, the final sentence seems to indicate that auditing the Fed then ending the Fed is the solution to all our problems. I think this statement begs the question "Is it possible to end the Fed?" With trillions of dollars of debt on its books, it seems to me that the Fed is by far the biggest "too big to fail" bank. Won't ending the Fed and unwinding all that debt cause a tsunami of financial problems worldwide? The result of auditing the Fed will likely force politicians of all parties to face the specter of solving an unsolvable problem - the country is bankrupt. What politician wants that? The easiest path for the politicians will be to try to avoid voting on this issue if at all possible.
