What I take from this 2003 article is that since the "price of gold" is going down currently, therefore the money supply is currently going down with it.

??? but really I don't know nor do I care.
Too many people are fixated on the price of gold in the hope of selling the stuff for a greater price sometime in the future.
To make a profit??? of dollars??? or maybe digits???

I stopped updating the spreadsheet described in this posting at least three years ago and have not run any correlation analysis since. I was not using the native regression in Excel, but a bolt-on tool that was Excel friend and fairly nice, if a bit pricey.
