Right on Bob,

As a geologist, Earth's history is frequently on the front burner for me and others in the industry (but for other reasons). The glaciers of North America have been receding (as a general proposition...there are some exceptions) for several hundred years - long before the automobile and coal-fired power plants.

The issue is simple: Follow the money - there is much more money to be made by a small group of persons with access to the media by promoting "green energy" than the rest of civilized society can imagine. What a sorry state of affairs we have come to embrace!

The USA is far more capable to deal with the coming sea-level rise than ANY country in the world...but it seems to be that we are taking on the idea that USA should pay for everyone else's inability to react to changes in nature.

Earth and geological processes are so vast that 99% of the population can not imagine what happens in 100,000 years, not to mention 1,000,000 years. The existence of all of Humanity is but a snap in geological time. There are much bigger issues to deal with.

Début de l'article :The May 12th piece on Sunspots reviewed that Solar Cycle 23 which ended in January 2008 accomplished the weakest minimum in over a hundred years. At its maximum in 2012, Cycle 24 was weaker. The drop with the April posting was rapid and set a new low. Solar minimums have been associated with declining temperatures.
