The fascist socialist system that runs this county is a conglomeration of patriotic nationalism and a giant bureaucracy. It is a million headed monster with no center to attack. That is why no president no matter how well intended and honest can ever have any lasting impact on the beast. The only way to have any impact on it is to starve it, remove it's food supply. Money.
There are two ways to do this:
1) A Flat Tax system would do it. It would not even have to be a particularly low rate. It would end the corruption and much of the social engineering the current tax code embodies.
2) Secession. As soon as the first State goes, many will follow. Nullification is already common, i.e. the marijuana laws. Some states are passing legal tender laws to reinstate parts of the Constitution.
