Instead of taking a day trader perspective it would be useful to look over a longer time frame. Try 5 years. Chalk and cheese!
On the point of "being stiffed" I hardly think imperial nations like America or Britain should complain. Both countries stiff the rest of the planet at every opportunity. Tell me about unfairness and hardship.....
