While this article is not nearly as stupid as those generally vomited forth by Tom DiLorenzo, the entire article begs the question, SO WHAT?
Lincoln is widely known as the best President we ever had because he was able to preserve the Union. Everything else was secondary. Further, the Confederacy also issued unbacked notes as well. Again, so what. Fiddling with the currency while in the midst of a civil war is the tail wagging the dog.
It is getting tiresome to read history through Libertarian tunnel vision as it continues to ignore the real world for fantasyland.
I suggest the author move to the Libertard utopia of Somalia where he can enjoy capitalism in its natural state.
