America's Sweetheart

Just as dependable as locusts returning every 17 years, so do we get an article from Kunstler every Monday. I'ts nice to have pests so predictable -- it allows us to prepare by gathering the tomatoes, spaying the yard, keeping the kids home from school, sealing doors and windows.

This week Kunstler attacks Nancy Grace (a foil for America) who had the audacity to be outraged at the injustice of the Casey Anthony decision. A woman murders her child and Grace is enraged. What's wrong with the woman? Kunstler thinks Grace would like "...to wrap duct tape over America's head and just throw the damn thing in her fabulous backyard pool."

What we really have is Kunstler projecting his own agenda for you, I, and the rest of us gun-toting, SUV driving Americans: those of us not wishing to chuck our industrial civilization and live in the woods. And what was that dig at Grace's "fabulous backyard pool" about? Methinks a little socialist's envy at the bourgeoisie.

And to show his level of sophistication, his urbane vocabulary, he refers to Romney as a "fucker" who ought to be paddled and horsewhipped. Why? Romney is a conservative and probably the best hope of rolling back government power and intervention in our lives -- something Kunstler and the left dreads like a plague of locusts. Ironic isn't it?

I'ts Monday and....the pests are back.
