" the Fed is either stupid, or evil, or stupid and evil. There is no fourth possibility that makes any sense."

How about this for a fourth possibility. The Fed is a private banking cartel whose mandate is to protect and enhance the banking establishment. No evil, no stupidity, just doing what they were created to do! Those who profit from the system and those dependent upon it's favors will pose no opposition.

I've used the analogy of the scorpion before. The Fed is the scorpion. Many are embroiled in the debate over how we might cross the river together, if only the scorpion would promise it was not a scorpion. I prefer to End the Scorpion!
