Hijau and has a 52.875% economic (45% ownership) interest. |

Located on the remote island of Sumbawa in the south
central portion of the Indonesian archipelago, Batu Hijau is
950 miles (1,528 kilometers) east of Jakarta.

|
In 1990, Newmont discovered Batu Hijau, a large copper-gold deposit on the island
of Sumbawa. Batu Hijau shipped its first concentrate at the end of 1999.
