Fatal Injury at Nifty Copper Operations

Aditya Birla Minerals Limited ('ABY' or 'the Company') advises that a contractor has died from fatal injuries he received in an accident in the Nifty Underground mine overnight.
The man was a bogger operator working in the underground mine when the accident occurred.
The Company has informed police and the Department of Mines and Petroleum and will assist with investigations into the accident, which are expected to start today.
Counselling services are being made available to affected workmates and other employees and will be extended to family and friends.
ABY has voluntarily initiated a temporary suspension of operations till further investigation.
ABY Chief Executive Officer Neel Patnaik said he was deeply saddened by the news and the thoughts and prayers of the entire Company are with the family of the deceased.
