Helio Resource Corp (the "Company")
(TSX-V: HRC) is pleased to provide an update on its
exploration activities in Namibia.
Tevrede
NorthThe company has completed an extensive
soil sampling progamme, covering approximately 140km2, over
prospective volcano-sedimentary strata on the Tevrede North
licence. 4,381 soil samples were collected on a 500 x 100m
sampling grid. A number of coincident anomalies were detected.
Peak geochemical assays are:
• |
Gold |
1.05g/t |
(Mean + 2 Standard Deviations = 0.05g/t) |
• |
Silver |
2.40g/t |
(M+2SD = 0.2g/t) |
• |
Copper |
838ppm |
(M+2SD = 82ppm) |
• |
Lead |
944ppm |
(M+2SD = 54ppm) |
• |
Zinc |
3,330ppm |
(M+2SD = 160ppm) |
These results represent the highest reconnaissance soil
sampling values recorded by Helio in the Kamanjab area and are
considered highly significant given the wide spacing of the
sampling grid.
The soil sampling programme followed
up on previously-detected stream geochemical anomalies (Company press release dated March 2, 2007) and extensions of
the mineralized stratigraphy drilled at the Company's Honib
licence (Company press release dated March 2, 2007), located
immediately south of Tevrede North. The mineralized
stratigraphy is characterized by a coincident Zn Cu Pb
Ag Au anomaly over 18 kilometres long and up to 500m
wide.
A second polymetalic anomaly, named Hornbill,
is also present in the grid and has a peak geochemical response of 3,300ppm Zn. Five rock grab samples have been
collected over the Hornbill anomaly and these returned the
following assays:

detailed soil sampling and mapping is currently being planned
in order to delineate drill targets.
