Alastair Ford, Editor of Minesite commented in the Forum round-up that, "Mark Parker announced that he was making his last Minesite appearance as managing director of African Eagle and, although this isn't exactly good news in and of itself, the reason behind his change of role is that the company has made much progress at its nickel project in Tanzania. The newly hired chief executive of African Eagle, Trevor Moss, is an expert in mine development, and having him running the show will allow Mark to get back to doing what he loves best, which is exploration".. African Eagle recently donated desks and chairs to seat 300 children to three community schools, one in Dutwa itself and two in nearby Ngasamo. When the last batch of desks was delivered to the school in Ngasamo, John McDonald, Manager of Tanzanian Operations for African Eagle, reported that the District Commissioner, Zainabu Kondo, had said that the donation helped lift some of the burden from the families in the community who normally would have had to purchase the desks themselves.
