Appointment of Managing Director

The Board of Rex Minerals (Rex) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Richard Laufmann to the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 23 April 2015. Dr David Carland will now step down as Executive Chairman and resume the role of Non-Executive Chairman.
Mr Laufmann is a founding Director of Rex and has been a Non-Executive Director since 2007. He brings to the Rex management team broad experience in the resources sector, both corporate and operational. Mr Laufmann's most recent engagement was for seven years as CEO of Indophil Resources (until recently an ASX listed company with a large copper-gold Joint Venture in the Philippines) and prior to that, five years as CEO of Ballarat Goldfields.
Dr Carland said: "We are making significant progress with the Extended Feasibility Study for the Hillside Project in South Australia. Richard brings to management the right mix of experience and skills to take the Company forward, beyond the completion of the study process and into the next phase of the Company's growth."
In commenting, Richard Laufmann acknowledged the role in executive leadership of David Carland over what has been a difficult but crucial reset period for Rex and as Managing Director, he now looks forward to engaging with Rex's stakeholders and shareholders.

Summary of material terms and conditions of Employment of Mr Laufmann.

Commencement: Thursday 23 April 2015
Term: Ongoing until terminated by Mr Laufmann or the Company by giving 2 months' notice.
Remuneration: Fixed annual salary of $250,000 excluding superannuation with no short term incentive plan. Proposed issue of unlisted options subject to shareholder approval, the proposed details of which will be advised following announcement of the Extended Feasibility Study results.
