ROCMEC ACQUIRES MILLING PLANT FOR ITS ROCMEC 1 GOLD
PROPERTY
Pointe-Claire, Quebec, April 30th,
2008 – Rocmec Mining inc. (TSX-V Symbol: RMI - FSE Symbol: D5O) is pleased to announce that it has acquired
a milling plant for its Rocmec 1 gold property. The company RSW-Beroma, located
in Val-d’Or, Quebec,
has already started construction and on-site installation is scheduled for the
end of summer. The contract with RSW-Beroma stipulates that the plant must be
operating at full production capacity no later than 180 days following the
signing of the contract, being before October 18th, 2008.
Following conclusive
gold recuperation tests performed by L.T.M. Laboratories of Val d’Or,
Quebec, management has determined that a floatation circuit is the practical
process for its project. The flotation process is an ecological way of
extracting precious metals as it does not employ cyanide. After a gravity
circuit, soaping agents are used to recuperate the gold along with the copper
and pyrite present in the mineralised ore at Rocmec 1. The resulting high-grade
concentrate will be stored in barrels and shipped to a refinery for final
treatment.
The 75 tpd milling plant
will be installed underground on the 130 metre level, a first in the Canadian mining
industry, according to Rocmec’s research. Left-over sterile material will
be used as backfill therefore no tailing pond will be needed. Rocmec has
mandated Systeme Geostat International Inc. to prepare the required
documentation to modify the authorisation certificate. The documentation will
be filed with the appropriate government ministries within the coming weeks.
The results obtained
with the thermal fragmentation mining method over the past months have led
management to move forward with the plant acquisition. The success in
controlling dilution and reducing operating costs by using the thermal
fragmentation mining method will allow Rocmec to mine and treat, only the
high-grade in-situ ore contained in the mineralised structures.
The treatment plant has
been financed through debt financing with a group of private investors without
any shares being issued by the company.
About Rocmec 1 property
The Rocmec 1 property includes 11 claims totaling 84 hectares and is
located in Dasserat Township, some 35
km from two World-Class Mining Camps, the Rouyn-Noranda
Copper Gold Camp to the SE in Quebec, and the Kirkland Lake
/ Larder Lake Gold Camp to the SW in Ontario.
The
gold mineralization at the Rocmec 1 property is linked to east-northeast,
centimetric and metric wide quartz veins, dipping moderately to steeply to the
south, within a kilometric long by 600 meter wide gabbro to granodiorite intrusive
host. There are at least six major vein systems identified on the property. The
veins are part of diverging and converging, or anastomosing, fracture system
than includes shearing, alteration (silica, chlorite, sericite, epidote and
carbonate) and 2 to 10% disseminated and vein-type pyrite that can attain
overall widths in excess of 30
metres.
A National Instrument 43-101 compliant report, providing technical data
relating to the quantified mineral resources dated March 19, 2007, prepared by Systmes Gostat International Inc. of Blainville, (Quebec)
Canada is

Mining Inc. is a Canadian junior exploration company actively involved in the
acquisition, exploration and development of precious metal projects. The
Company's exclusive thermal fragmentation process combined with its growth
strategy positions it as the partner of choice for the development of narrow
high-grade precious metal quartz vein projects. The Company’s shares are
listed on the TSX-Venture (RMI) and the FSE (D5O) exchange.
“Thermal fragmentation - the way of the future for
mining narrow high-grade veins”
Rocmec Mining's growth strategy is focused on developing quality assets
that will significantly enhance shareholder value by using the thermal
fragmentation method throughout the Americas to extract narrow vein ore
bodies. By utilising the thermal fragmentation method in combination with
conventional mining methods, the company aims to become a mid-tier gold
producer. In addition, by providing service agreements, the company intends to
generate additional revenue and accelerate the spread of this unique
