Perseus Mining added to S&P/ASX 200 index

Perth-based emerging gold producer Perseus Mining Limited (ASX/TSX: PRU) has today been added to the S&P/ASX 200 index.

The West African-focussed company will move into its new index after the close of trading on 19 March, 2010.

"Being included in the S&P 200 is a significant milestone for us as institutional investors often weigh their portfolios relative to the index," Perseus Mining Managing Director Mark Calderwood said.

"We hope that being part of the index will increase the volumes traded in our shares."
