Orosur Mining Inc Announces appointment of Chief Operating Officer

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay, 31 August, 2010. Orosur Mining Inc ('OMI' or 'the Company') (TSX-V: OMI) (AIM: OMI), a South American focused gold producer and explorer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Luis Albano Tondo as Chief Operating Officer, effective 1 September 2010. Mr. Tondo holds a BSc Mining Engineer (Mineral Processing) from UFRGS Brazil, an MBA from Fundaco Dom Cabral, Brazil and Masters of Science Engineering from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Mr. Tondo was recently a Project Director for Kinross Gold where he was responsible for the scoping and prefeasibility study for the Lobo Marte project and the scoping study for the expansion of the Maricunga Mine, both located in the Maricunga Belt close to Orosur's Pantanillo project.

Before working on the projects in Chile, Mr Tondo was The Project Manager of the Paracatu Expansion III Project in Brazil, a project that has more than doubled the gold production rate of the Paracatu mine from 180,000 to 500,000 ounces per annum.

In addition to Mr Tondo�s experience in project development he has worked in operations at the Paracatu mine for more than 15 years. Mr Tondo also brings significant experience in safety, environmental and community relations developed through his 25 years of experience in Chile and Brazil.

Mr Fowler commented: �Mr Tondo's experience in project development and operations will be an important asset to Orosur in progressing our growth objectives at Pantanillo and generally in South America�.
