Yankee Hat Announces Drilling Results From Its Fran Gold Project
July 17th, 2007
Mr. Brad Kitchen reports
Yankee Hat Minerals Ltd. (the “Company”) is pleased to announce results from five new holes completed at the North Contact Zone of its wholly owned Fran Gold Project in central British Columbia. The results include some of the widest and highest grade intersections encountered to date, including:
- 3.84 grams per tonne gold over 27.6 meters including a higher grade core of 10.62 grams per tonne gold over 8.3 meters in drill hole FR-07-74.
- 2.10 grams per tonne gold over 39.7 meters including higher grade cores of 5.99 grams per tonne gold over 7.4 meters, 3.14 grams per tonne gold over 7.0 meters, and 2.87 grams per tonne gold over 5.6 meters in hole FR-07-71.
- 27.86 grams per tonne gold over 0.6 meters and a separate zone of 0.74 grams per tonne over 24.3 meters in hole FR-07-75.
The winter drilling program at the North Contact Zone was completed in early May and consisted of 17 holes for more than 3,300 meters. The Company has now reported the results of the first 13 of these holes and the results of the remaining holes will be announced as they become available.
The first objective of the winter program was to infill the 250 meter central gap that was left between holes FR-06-50A (west) and FR-06-62 (east) at the end of the 2006 drilling program (See drill plan map HERE).
These latest five holes, all located within the central gap, combined previously reported holes FR-07-68 through FR-07-70 (please refer to the Company’s News Release dated June, 13, 2007) have successfully in filled the central gap to depths of 140 meters below surface. The results confirm that the North Contact Zone is continuously mineralized over 1,000 meters of strike length, with mineralization beginning near surface. The target remains open along strike in both directions.
A table of drilling highlights is provided below for further reference.
