LANGLEY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 10, 2011) - Curlew Lake Resources Inc. (News - Market indicators)(PINK SHEETS:CWLXF) announces it is making good progress on two exploration fronts.
Delays have been overcome at FBA 9-14-57-24 W4M and well site construction is now underway. A coil tubing drilling unit has been contracted to drill a well to test the Ellerslie formations. It is expected that drilling will commence during the next week.
The exploration hole is a New Pool Wildcat and is intended to evaluate a number of formations on the way to a target depth of 1116 metres. This location will be drilled to evaluate at least two Ellerslie sedimentary channels and lead the way to a 3-D seismic survey on portions of Curlew lands in the township.
Curlew Lake has a substantial position in Township 57, Range 24 West 4th Meridian that has not been shot using 3-D seismic and it is expected that multiple targets will be identified if 9-14 indicates a number of prospective targets.
On the minerals front, operators in the Clear Hills area of Peace River Arch area are leading the way in a substantial iron, gold and vanadium project and report that they are carrying out a 150-hole drilling program at this time. This project is adjacent to the Curlew Hotchkiss and Halverson Ridge Alberta land acquisition.
Curlew has currently acquired an interest in over 800,000 acres of Alberta Metallic and Industrial Minerals exploration permits adjacent to the iron exploration at Clear Hills and based on the success of the world-class iron ore and vanadium project being carried out; Curlew expects to use the Alberta Geological Survey Open File Report 097 findings and sample locations to plan a field study for the next field season.
Presently aeromagnetic data and geochemistry are being evaluated along with other research data in order to plan the most prudent and cost effective exploration program possible at Hotchkiss and Halverson.
The management team at Curlew is working toward creating value for the company in both the energy and minerals fields. These high-impact pursuits are asset creating enterprises with good multiples on investment.
