VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2012) - Fancamp Exploration Ltd. (News - Market indicators) ("Fancamp" or the "Company") wishes to announce the ongoing evaluation of a series of five historic gold showings located along a 13 kilometer by 6 kilometer northeast trending corridor in western Gaspé, and a part of its Appalachian early stage exploration project.

The property, recently staked by the Company, includes a gold placer on the North Kempt River, discovered in 1942, consisting of small free gold nuggets in stream sediments along a downstream distance of some 300 meters. This occurrence was sampled first by P.E Dumont in 1962 (Ministère des ressources naturelles et de la faune Quebec Assessment File GM 12658) and returned gold values in three out of a total of fourteen holes drilled in bedrock; 4.1 g/t gold over 3.05 meters, 14.7 g/t gold over 2.44 meters and 13.7 g/t gold over 2.13 meters. It should be emphasized that these are historic numbers and hence lack current confirmation; indeed, this qualification applies to all such numbers cited in this release.

In 1984, Robert Assad of the Quebec Department of Mines (Report DP-84-35) sampled the gold placer itself which returned gold values of 1.71, 6.38, 1.78 and 2.85 g/t gold in four heavy mineral concentrates. In 1990, Noranda Exploration Company Ltd. (Assessment File GM 50815) conducted heavy mineral concentrate sampling south and west of the gold placer. Several values were anomalous, for example, 0.190, 0.196, 0.287, 0.771, and 10 g/t gold.

A second showing, known as the Big Dragon, lies about 4.3 kilometers north of the gold placer and consists of a series of quartz veins carrying variable amounts of pyrite in argillaceous schists. This showing, discovered by prospectors in 1999-2000 (Assessment File GM59540, GM59577 and GM 60020) following the cutting of forestry roads, was trenched and sampled, yielding numbers such as 2.02 g/t gold over 4.4 meters, including 4.04 g/t over 1 meter. The showing strikes northeast and dips -45 degrees toward the northwest and has been traced over some 185 meters with widths of 3 meters to 4 meters. A grab sample of quartz vein material containing 3% to 4% pyrite, taken from one of these trenches in the current reconnaissance program returned 6.5 g/t Au. These veins are brecciated and exhibit boudinaged structure (GM60020). A strong IP chargeability anomaly suggests that the Big Dragon structure extends for more than a kilometer in length. This showing has never been drilled.

Three additional showings occur further east and remain to be examined in detail.

The Company has carried out soil sampling and completed an IP survey over both described showings. Anomalous gold values in soils, in the 10 ppb to 69 ppb gold range, are apparently associated with a number of strong IP chargeability anomalies, the largest of which is some 1.6 km in length and located immediately north of the placer occurrence. The historic Boulanger Showing (one of the three) grading 1.7 g/t gold is located 2.3 kilometers northeast of the placer (Assessment File GM 59540) and on strike with one of these anomalies.

A drill is presently being moved on to the property and drilling will begin early next week on the Big Dragon and other showings. The total meterage drilled will depend on results, which will be released when received.

The historic reported values were completed prior to the implementation of National Instrument ("NI") 43-101 standards. Given the quality of the work prepared by P.E. Dumont, the Quebec Department of Mines and Noranda Exploration Company Ltd., the company believes the reported values to be both relevant and reliable. However, a qualified person has not completed sufficient work to verify these results. Hence, they should not be relied upon.

Drilling continues on the Lac Lamêlée Iron project and an update will be released shortly.

The technical information in this news release was prepared, reviewed and approved by Jean Bernard P. Geo., the Gaspé Project Geologist, and Jean Lafleur, P. Geo., a Fancamp Director, Both individuals are Qualified Persons under NI 43-101 standards.
