Appointment Of Director

April 10, 2007, Vancouver, BC: Mandalay Resources Corporation
(TSX.V:MLR) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of
Marcelin O'Neill as a director of the Company. Ms. O'Neill, who has
resigned as Corporate Secretary of the Company, was appointed as a
director on April 5, 2007 to fill the vacancy created by the
resignation of Brian Stewart (as disclosed in the Company's press
release dated March 19, 2007). Since 1994 Ms. O'Neill has worked for
such companies as Augusta Resource Corporation, Westcoast Energy Inc.,
and the Lundin Group. She has a Business Management background, and
has successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course and the
Conduct and Practices Handbook Course, both with honours. Ms. O'Neill
brings a varied scope of knowledge to the Mandalay team.

For clarity, the Company's directors and officers are now comprised of
the following:

Karl Antonius: President, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Faisal Saleh: Chief Financial Officer and Director
Jim Halloran: Director
Marcelin O'Neill: Director
