Atom appointments experienced gold mining executive as Chief Operating Officer & Director

Atom Energy Limited (Atom or the Company) is pleased to advise that experienced gold mining operations executive, Mr David Hamlyn, has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a Director of the Company.

Mr Hamlyn is a geologist with a broad range of exploration, mine management and corporate experience including successful exploration and development of several gold projects in the Kalgoorlie region over the past 28 years. He was previously General Manager of the Mt Pleasant Gold Operations in the north Kalgoorlie gold province and has extensive experience managing large-scale multi-open pit gold mining and processing operations.

Mr Hamlyn will be responsible for the exploration and development of Atom�s flagship asset, the Kalgoorlie North Gold Project (Project). The Project, located about 45km north of Kalgoorlie, is centered in a major Australian gold producing region with excellent infrastructure and proximity to existing processing facilities. The Project covers some 98 km2 of granted mining and prospecting leases with 25km of strike over the well mineralized Bardoc Tectonic Zone extending north from Broad Arrow. Atom is currently undertaking an extensive drilling program in an effort to fast-track resource expansion and mine development to capitalise on the current high gold price.

The Directors are delighted that Mr Hamlyn has agreed to bring his considerable experience - both in exploration and operations in the gold sector - to the Atom Energy Board. Mr Hamlyn�s appointment highlights the Company�s belief that long-term viable gold mining operations can be established in this
proven premier gold province.

Other Board Changes

The Board further advises that Mr Bevan Tarratt & Mr Bruce Lane have resigned as Directors; Mr Tarratt will remain in his existing executive capacity with the Company.
