Commander Appoints New Chair And Grants Options
  Commander Resources Ltd. (CMD-TSX Venture) reports David Watkins, director of the Company has been appointed Chairman of the Board in place of William J. Coulter effective May 12, 2009. Mr. Coulter will continue as a director of the Company.

The Company announces the grant of 1,706,000 incentive stock options to directors, officers, employees and consultants of the Company under its stock option plan, in accordance with the Company's compensation policy and to replace expired options. The options are exercisable for five years at a price of $0.10 per share, and are subject to the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange.
